Avocado oil

I guess I am one of the last people to join on the band wagon of Avocado oil. How did it happen that I did not have this oil in my pantry? Biggest mistake was corrected a few weeks ago when I was reminded of avocado versatility by Avocado lattes. Oh yes, people drink their lattes in avocado shells. This truly happens whether we like it or now. Maybe you noticed that Naturallybeautiful.life is into coffee big time. And since we love it we even try to make coffee healthy for you. But lets not still the thunder from Avocado oil. As I was thinking about the wonder of avocado latte, I also figured out I will run and buy avocado oil. I was going to bake that day. So why did I buy it and why should you bother?

Fat composition of avocado oil
Fat composition of avocado oil
  • 70.55g of monounsaturated fats that includes 67.9g of Oleic Acid linked to improving blood pressure.
  • 13.49g of polyunsaturated fats that include 0.96g of omega-3 fatty-acids and 12.53g of omega-6 fatty acids.

Heart health is important to all of us. One proven benefit of introducing avocado oil in your diet is that it can reduce your bad cholesterol, because as graph about shows it is really high in Oleic Acid, which is known to raise good cholesterol levels. As a result, your LDL cholesterol levels go down. Monounsaturated acids also can potentially reduce risk of cardiovascular disease. Finally, some studies found that monounsaturated fats can reduce blood pressure. That in turn proves that avocado and avocado oil is also good for your heart 🙂

Nutrient absorption is something a lot of people struggle with. So I absolutely think that we should incorporate natural foods that can help us with this important body function. The Journal of Nutrition published a study proving that the addition of avocado oil to a meal can boost the absorption of carotenoids in food. Carotenoids are health-promoting antioxidants that are fat-soluble and depend on dietary fats for absorption. Simply adding avocado oil to your salad can significantly enhanced alpha-carotene, beta-carotene and lutein absorption.

Skin health is something we all care about as people often judge us by our looks. Well, guess what – avocado potentially can improve such skin condition as psoriasis as it contains vitamin B12. One of the main benefits of avocado oil are to soothe and add moisture. But there are other useful effects that you may experience as avocado oil can:

  • calm itchy skin
  • heal chapped skin
  • replenish dry skin
  • hydrate and moisturize skin
  • shield skin from ultraviolet radiation
  • protect against skin damage

Joint Health is something that a lot of people with arthritis are concerned about. I can rest my case by simply stating that avocado oil is on the list of Best Oils for Arthritis provide by Arthritis foundation. French studies found that avocado oil prevents osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis by stopping the inflammatory prostaglandin E2 synthesis within the connective tissue, and can relieve OA pain, stimulate cartilage repair, and lowering a patient’s need for anti-inflammatory drugs. Should I say more?

Cooking is one of the top benefits that avocado oil offers often overlooked by others. We all bake and fry or eat fried/baked foods. Well guess what? Avocado oil can be a green gold for cooks like me who love baking. It has one of the highest smoke points. Jon Barron recommends to “use avocado oil for high temperature cooking. Avocado oil has a very high smoke point by comparison to other cooking oils. It will not burn or smoke until it reaches 520 F (271 C), which is ideal for searing meats and frying in a Wok. ” This oil is included as Jon Barron’s Final Recommendation For Healthiest Cooking Oils. A lot of people love cooking with coconut oil and macadamia nut oil, but try avocado oil and see the difference.

Can avocado oil help with Hot Flashes?

I wanted to talk about avocado oil and hot flashes outside of top 5 benefits as it deserves its own section. Since millions of women suffer from hot flashes, some of them might find this information useful. Resent study gives us hope of a natural remedy. We all know that Hormone replacement therapy (HRT) is common therapy for relief of menopausal symptoms like hot flashes but has possible contraindications and side effects.  Recently combination of Avocado oil with Soybean oil showed effects in reducing hot flash severity. So if you are not allergic to soybean or avocado oil, try implementing both in your diet to help with hot flashes! This is an amazing news! And I cannot scream about it loudly enough.

Well I do not know about you, but I definitely will keep avocado oil as a constant part of my diet. It is really a new miracle oil for me. And it does make my life more naturally beautiful.
