Norway the beautiful
I have been to quite a few places in my life but Norway holds a special place in my heart. This country is full of naturally beautiful things. Inf fact, everything is a miracle to behold. So I want to share a few interesting spots and ideas with you.
Bergen is a city to behold
Bergen is a beautiful city that offers a lot of entertainment. So trust me and you will not be bored. Any location in this city is a good location. Settle in your hotel, and go visit one of the great restaurants for your dinner. In fact my first meal in Norway was in Enhjørningen Fiskerestaurant or Unicorn fish restaurant. And trust me when I tell you that they brought me the freshest salmon I ever tasted. If restaurant scene is not for you, try the fish market. It is amazing indeed. You can stroll through a great variety of fish and seafood and order yourself a plate of fresh goodness that will be cooked right in front of you.
Take a day to enjoy one of many fjord tours. You will not be disappointed. In fact, I took different Fjord tours almost every other day while in Norway. Needless to say I loved them all. And Bergen offers some of the best sights. Ever wondered what Fjord is? This might help.
Visit one of the mountains
Visit one of the beautiful mountains. I promise you will not get disappointed. You might find some free roaming sheep along the way. But the view at the end will take your breath away.
For the lovers of classical music I recommend the Grieg museum. And try to stay for a concert. You will not regret it.
If you love music festivals then Bergenfest is a must do. I ‘ve been there in 2016 and it was a blast. Did I tell you it happens in a super cool restored ancient building? You will get exposed to a ton of European music that is fun. And you might fall in love with some of the bands. Bergenfest usually takes place in June. 2017 festival headliners include Bryan Ferry, Ellie Goulding, Liam Gallagher, Richard Ashcroft, and Pet Shop Boys.
Say hello to Fram
If you ever get tired of Bergen, don’t worry. How about taking a train? And this train will take you on the most scenic route to behold. Beware of singing enchantresses.
Stay in Ullensvang Hotel
I would suggest to make a trip and stay in Ullensvang hotel. While there enjoy the view, take a hike, visit local museums, and find a hidden mermaid.
Visit a stave church
If you love old churches Norway has some of the oldest. Do not leave without visiting a stave church. The craftsmanship is amazing.
Oslo is a jewel
You absolutely should not skip Oslo if in Norway! It has tons of things to do. I would simply be lost trying to mention them all. Why won’t I try not to repeat myself?
Visit Vigeland Sculpture Park
Vigeland sculpture garden is one of the best kept secrets that Oslo has to offer. You can lose track of time here. Be careful or you end up spending the whole day.
Visit some of the best museums
Oslo has some of the best museums. Fram museum is a mast if you are interested in adventures and ships. It is amazing. And of course you cannot skip the Munch museum. I did not know that Munch did a ton of Scream versions. Get ready to be amazed.
Attend an opera or ballet in Oslo opera house
We all know that Oslo opera house is considered one of the top 10 most beautiful opera buildings in the world. But how about enjoying a performance? It is truly amazing. One of the best memories I will hold dear! Nothing beats being inside.
Visit the Royal Palace
You might be tired of old buildings but you will not be tired of the gardens. Well, Royal Palace is magnificent. And it is definitely worth your time.
Roam the streets
You are in Oslo. Get adventurous! Roam off the tourist path to find some unique gems! For example find yourself on a fairy-tale bridge. Learn the legend about White Bear King Valemon legend. Or simply hunt for not so scare trolls. Because lets be honest – trolls are usually scary.
No matter where you will find yourself in Norway – I am sure you will be amazed! This is indeed a naturally beautiful place.
